Projects & Installations

Every year 100% Design commissions a series of installations across the show floor, designed to push the boundaries of design, in terms of concepts, process and material capabilities.

Previous collaborations have included El Ultimo Grito, NBBJ Architects, Mette, Thomas Matthews, Benjamin Hubert, Paul Cocksedge Studio, Aberrant Architecture, Material Lab and 3D print shop iMakr. Take a look below at the projects and installations that took place in 2017.

Register now to visit and be the first to hear more about projects and installations for 2018.

Auditorium

Auditorium

The Plywood based design, by show designer Sally Hogarth, was comprised of vertical monolithic elements, which created an inspiring backdrop for over 20 talks, presentations and discussions. The Auditorium was located in 100% Kitchens, Bathrooms & Bedrooms.

Central Bar

Central Bar

The central bar, designed by Sally Hogarth, was a serene and uplifting environment from which to network and explore the show. The bar was inspired by biophillic design, greenery overflows amongst a multilayered landscape of contrasting surfaces from DHH Timber.

Design & Build bar

Design & Build bar

The 2017 Design & Build bar was designed by Ross Bennett, famed for his knowledge and experimentation with materials. In the ‘London’ edition of his series, he mixed  pitted concrete, oak and more playful materials such as rubber mac, the waterproof material perfected in London by Charles Macintosh and Thomas Hancock.

Elements by Max Fraser

Elements by Max Fraser

The entrance installation, designed by Max Fraser, brought together an edited selection of products from the past and present and celebrated various elements of the designs that boast intelligent design solutions, sophisticated tooling and innovative production techniques.

Surface

Surface

Taking inspiration from mosaics and the show’s theme, the feature in the Kitchens, Bedrooms & Bathrooms section showcased tiles by Kaza Concrete in an interactive setting. Forming the word ‘Elements’, each letter focused on an element in design; line, shape, texture, form, colour, space, detail and craft.

Arper Bloggers Lounge

Arper Bloggers Lounge

The Arper Bloggers Lounge, sponsored by furniture manufacturer Arper returned for the second year as the digital hub of 100% Design. Located near the central bar, the Lounge was a dedicated area for digital press, fully equipped with free Wi-Fi and charging points.

Auditorium Café

Auditorium Café

Benjamin Craven, who exhibited earlier this year at the One Year On showcasd at New Designers, designed a bold display of fabrics for the Auditorium Café. From screen-printing to digital, Craven uses heavy geometric lines that give order to what appears to be a haphazard array of clashing colours and patterns, resulting in designs that are anything but accidental.
Restaurant

Restaurant

Abstracta created a calm and peaceful atmosphere at the 100% Design restaurant. The acoustic panels by the Swedish brand come in geometric and elegant shapes in nuanced and subtle colours. The sound-absorbing panels and modules can be assembled in a virtually infinite number of ways.
MeroWings Breakout zone

MeroWings Breakout zone

In collaboration with the show organisers, MeroWings created an Elements of Nature Breakout zone for visitors. For the first time, guests were able to relax in this nature inspired installation designed to provide a lounge and communications area with a difference.

Press Office & VIP Lounge

Press Office & VIP Lounge

This 2017 Press Office & VIP Lounge was furnished by Emerald Faerie, Elli Popp, Jonathan Charles Furniture and Nick Munro. The space was styled with large-scale tropical forest murals and 3D wallpapers, complimented by a range of furniture including the collaborative 'Regency Sofa'.
