Projects & Installations
The Plywood based design, by show designer Sally Hogarth, was comprised of vertical monolithic elements, which created an inspiring backdrop for over 20 talks, presentations and discussions. The Auditorium was located in 100% Kitchens, Bathrooms & Bedrooms.
The central bar, designed by Sally Hogarth, was a serene and uplifting environment from which to network and explore the show. The bar was inspired by biophillic design, greenery overflows amongst a multilayered landscape of contrasting surfaces from DHH Timber.
Design & Build bar
The 2017 Design & Build bar was designed by Ross Bennett, famed for his knowledge and experimentation with materials. In the ‘London’ edition of his series, he mixed pitted concrete, oak and more playful materials such as rubber mac, the waterproof material perfected in London by Charles Macintosh and Thomas Hancock.
Elements by Max Fraser
The entrance installation, designed by Max Fraser, brought together an edited selection of products from the past and present and celebrated various elements of the designs that boast intelligent design solutions, sophisticated tooling and innovative production techniques.
Taking inspiration from mosaics and the show’s theme, the feature in the Kitchens, Bedrooms & Bathrooms section showcased tiles by Kaza Concrete in an interactive setting. Forming the word ‘Elements’, each letter focused on an element in design; line, shape, texture, form, colour, space, detail and craft.
