| About Electrolux Design Lab: Established in 2003, Electrolux Design Lab is an annual global design competition open to undergraduate and graduate industrial design students who are invited to present innovative ideas for household appliances of the future. The competition theme for 2010, 'The 2nd Space Age', is an exploration of the role domestic product design has in maximizing living space. The brief specifically challenged students to submit thoughtfully-designed products that will shape how people prepare and store food, wash clothes, and do dishes by 2050 when 74% of the global population are predicted to live in an urban environment. www.electrolux.com/designlab |
