The Swiss design team produces elegant, porcelain etagères, an old-fashioned table accessory, which space-saving construction allows for the aesthetically pleasing multi- layered presentation of food or small objects. Each etagère is composed of up-cycled, individual porcelain plates.
After seeing a gap in the market, Christian Altherr and Ana Rangel (founders of Wilhelm Teller), began to produce affordable, traditional etagères for the European market.
It took Altherr numerous attempts to find the ideal shape for the connector pieces that would be stable, yet easy to hold as well as coordinated with a range of different plates. The connecting brass rods are now made in Switzerland and allow for easy and quick assembly.
