Living Walls are becoming a feature of our towns and cities, but vertical planting doesn’t have to be real to be effective. Bright Green will be returning to 100% Design 2013 to showcase its range of interior and exterior replica green walls and moss walls.
Particularly popular at 100% Design 2012 were Bright Green’s preserved moss panels. Real moss is treated with natural ingredients including glycerine that replaces the water in the cell structure resulting in a green wall which will not wilt or die but requires no water to survive. Using pole moss which has a natural ‘lumpy’ appearance they create verdant green panels, pictures and whole walls. Panels can be flat, contoured or have any pattern in relief.
Bright Green also design and build exterior grade green walls for both residential and commercial properties. Designs can be highly structured with clearly defined geometric or natural patterns. They are built on panels of Stokbord, a recycled and recyclable plastic board made in the UK from the back of store packaging from Waitrose and John Lewis. Unlike deciduous green walls, Bright Green’s replica green walls are verdant all year round.
Bright Green’s range of Green Walls offer a great alternative to living walls, needing virtually no maintenance and incurring significantly lower costs. At only 150 to 200mm in depth, they require considerably less space than living green walls, making them perfect for City Garden Design and Courtyard Gardens.
