Key product(s) launched at 100% Design...
I had a series of product launches during my time showing at 100% Design; I was really there as a maker but each September gave me the chance to put a product out there. There were some key moments for me:

1997 was special - I launched Rave furniture with Steve Pawsey. The main product was a flatpack spiral table made in neon acrylic and psycho vinyl. At the time it created a big stir.

1998 - Another important piece I launched at the show was Recession (above), a table which was one part of a small showcase in the reception of 100% Design. What was special about the piece was that when it was touched it quivered. It represented the fear of losing your livelihood. It had scrape marks on the side, representing the fear falling off an edge.

Key encounters at the show over the years...
100% Design always fed my interest in contact with people; at the show people are always doing great projects and trying new things: the last year it was in Chelsea (1997) someone brought a Mini in to the show that was covered in fur!

I've met a huge range of people at the show - some with product or materials - I remember meeting Dalsouple at the show - their rubber products are great. However the show has always attracted talent; I've fond memories of showing with people like the Villiers Brothers, Mark Brazier Jones and of course Jamie, Matteu and Astrid from JAM.

Your favourite product launch from 100% Design?
1998 - I launched Light Cones at the show that year. They're still sold today. That design put lights behind veneers.

The show has always attracted an informed audience; it's a place for exciting, good contacts, not just from London/UK but from around the world.
