FærID was formed in 2009 in Iceland by Thorunn Hannesdottir, a graduate from Central St. Martins College in London. Her designs are visually light and simple, with a definite connection to traditional Scandinavian designs.
The Askur collection of picnic pieces is inspired by Nordic history and is designed predominantly to serve Nordic food such as herring, rye-bread, potatoes and eggs. The range was produced in 2010 and aims to reinvent old values with new experiences.
The quirky set of Angelica tables get their inspiration from 1950's Danish furniture. The tray on top of the table has a cut-out of a flower called Angelica that grows all over Iceland. The drawer opens in both directions, allowing the table to be used in many ways and from varying angles.
