100% Design collaborate with Design Guild Mark for British Design Excellence Earls Court 22-25 September 2011
100% Design is collaborating with The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers to promote British Design Excellence through the Design Guild Marks. The Director’s Cut curated feature at 100% Design will include the Lima chair designed by Katerina McMahon for Morgan and the Cobi chair designed by Pearson Lloyd for Steelcase, both of which received a Design Guild Mark 2011. Other products at the exhibition such as the Gillespie Side tables, designed by Samuel Chan for Channels, will include on the display a Design Guild Mark plaque.
Information on the Design Guild Mark submission procedure for 2012 will be displayed at the information point on the Director’s Cut feature.
The Furniture Makers Company introduced the Design Guild Mark to reward excellence in the design of furniture in volume production. By the award of this Guild Mark for designs which meet The Furniture Makers Company’s criteria, the designers receive due recognition and the industry is made more aware of the importance of investment in design.
Design Guild Mark rewards the work of the finest designers working in Britain and the best of British Designers working abroad.
