DESIGNERS KIKI VAN EIJK AND JOOST VAN BLEISWIJK FROM 22 TO 25 SEPTEMBER 2011 AT 100%DESIGN LONDON WITH VENICE PROJECTS
The creations of these two innovative and very talented Dutch designers will be exhibited at the prestigious London fair: 100%Design.
The artistic initiative, curated by Adriano Berengo, has been produced and promoted by Venice Projects and carried out at the Berengo Studio 1989 furnaces on Murano.
Kiki Van Eijk and Joost Van Bleiswijk independently conceive and design their products yet, despite the obvious stylistic differences, communicate perfectly through an attraction of opposites. If Joost’s works are resolutely solid and rigid, geometrically constructed to reveal an architectural approach also in the conception and construction of everyday objects, Kiki’s are linked even more to an introspective and feminine view of the world, or rather to objects as a representation and concrete expression of the most important things in an individual’s life.
Adriano Berengo, the president of Venice Projects, states, that with this initiative directed at design, “Venice Projects has demonstrated its understanding of how cross-pollination between genres is a distinctively contemporary element as well as an opportunity to create new creative harmonies and synergies”.
