Description
PARCS

"Most managers think that if you are away from your desk, you’re not working. It needs progressiveness to recognise that someone who sits on a sofa can still be creating value for the company."
Tom Lloyd, PearsonLloyd

PARCS creates zones in an office that enhance the productivity and the well-being of a company’s employees by facilitating various ways of working such as meeting, presenting, learning, brainstorming, focussing, reading or touch-down.

PARCS is a product line with architectural quality that consists of several elements, like a kit, that collec-tively enables and creates a multifunctional working environment.

PARCS enhances communication and cooperation as well as contemplation and concentration, and anticipates future changes in working patterns, techniques and behaviour.

PARCS is the first industrialised product line of its kind with a holistic and cultural approach.

"We don’t consider PARCS to be a predefined product but rather something that evolves along with changing technologies."
Luke Pearson, PearsonLloyd

PARCS Causeways
Name
PARCS Causeways
Description
Causeways. Versatile ergonomics for versatile people.

Causeways are the right-angled upholstered furniture landscape of PARCS. The foundation for their “tectonics” are the seating modules, which are available in three different sizes. In combination with the vertical fence modules or walls, they motivate their users to take one of three different ergonomic positions: sitting, standing or leaning. And they encourage quick and easy-going – and creative – meetings.

Vertical modules provide a screen for work that requires concentration. If shelves and books are installed, a library is created.

Causeways enable ergonomic freedom. The inspiration for their design derives from the Giant’s Causeway, an impressive rock formation in Northern Ireland; there, every visitor intuitively adopts the posture that is most comfortable for them. The Spanish Steps in Rome, street cafes in Paris and old cities also inspired the designers – places in which people like to congregate and linger.

PARCS Idea Wall
Name
PARCS Idea Wall
Description
Idea Wall. The perfect place for a quick presentation or a short discussion.

An integral part of PARCS is the Idea Wall, a freestanding wall element with integrated communication and media technology. The Idea Wall is a screen for information and a room partition. Combined with a free-standing table or Causeways, important presentations and discussions can take place at the Idea Wall.

Media integration is a major plus in general for PARCS: intelligently used, it supports mobile working and professional presentations. The lighting has also been carefully planned. llumination not only provides light but also subtly defines each individual space.

PARCS Toguna
Name
PARCS Toguna
Description
Toguna. The smallest conference room in the world. The Toguna is the most striking meeting space: circular, half-open and free-standing. Acoustically screened, the Toguna is a space for brainstorming, short meetings or discussions that require intense concentration. Available for sit-down and stand-up meetings in two different heights.

People can sit or stand in it. When someone enters the Toguna, they are right in the middle of the action.

The idea for the Toguna comes from Mali, West Africa, where it is a gathering place for village elders.

PARCS Wing Series
Name
PARCS Wing Series
Description
Wing Chair and Wing Sofa. Comfortable and flexible, for serious business meetings and recreation.

The Wing Chair and Wing Sofa evoke memories of the traditional wingback chair. Lateral headrests provide shielding and enable concentrated discussions and focussed work. Or recreation.

Wing Chairs provide comfortable seating for a single person. They can be rotated: So you can turn towards others or away from them if you don’t want to be disturbed.

Wing Sofas offer seating for two to three people. When combined with connective elements and fitted with a table, they can be transformed into larger spatial units. In the “American Diner”, two Wing Sofas are sociably positioned opposite from one another – ready for a meeting or for working together.

There is an exciting contrast between the orthogonal Causeways and the organic shapes of the Wing series and the Toguna. The curved forms encourage movement and break with rigid structures.
