Entrance Feature Announced 'The Design Path' Sponsored by HAKWOOD18-Aug-2016
Taking the variety of colours and textures available in the Hakwood range as a starting point, ‘Design Path’ combines bespoke colours to reinvent the herringbone pattern with movements found in nature. Meandering across the exhibition floor the piece explores vibrations and water patterns . Each plank of wood functions as a section of river generating ripples in the water. 100% Design visitors will walk over and along the ‘Design Path’ as they enter the exhibition, playing on this years theme of ‘experience’ and the creative process designers take. The colour pallet used pays homage to the variety of shades found within water in motion - the garnet red pieces eluding to unexpected shades created by reflections of surroundings. The walkway consists of 943 pieces of Hakwood European oak intricately woven into the iconic herringbone style which comes to form wavelets across the floor. The variations of natural wood colours used creates a sense of depth and shade as visitors walk along their way into the show.
